Hi! I’m Chris. I built my first duplex conversion in 2018 and haven’t looked back since.

I have always had an interest in real estate, however only took the plunge until a major life change pushed me to carefully consider my life goals. I was doing great - my career was solid, I had found a niche and was great at it. But, I wanted for more. I longed for the days where I didn’t have to work in a corporate day job. I wanted to achieve freedom, and I knew real estate could offer that to me.

In 2016 I bought that house - a bi-level split that I figured I could fairly easily add a legal basement apartment. The basement was already developed, and I was pretty handy. How hard could it be? Over the course of nearly a year of late nights, busy weekends and many hours of research, I completed the project. I had my first rental - a fully legal basement suite. The lessons I learned were immense. I had a new appreciation for all of the trades involved. I understood more of the building code then I ever thought possible. And I had created something I was oh so proud of. I was hooked!

Since then, I have been on a journey to scale up. Along with my partner, we finished our second legal basement suite project in Calgary which doubled our portfolio. With a few long term rentals running, I’ve now shifted into the short term rental and Airbnb game. Right now we are targeting markets adjacent to Calgary - in particular, we are focused on Invermere BC. It’s a great town, has excellent economics, and we simply love spending time there.

Outside of real estate, I have 15 years of professional experience as a consulting Business Analyst in industry, and a formal bachelor’s degree in Economics. My industry experience offered me a unique opportunity to work on countless projects across nearly a dozen corporate clients. I love improving processes, designing and building great things both big and small, and creating wonderful solutions for the people that I work with. Even more applicable to real estate, I’ve lived and realized the benefit of strong project management and attention to detail.
